APPM is interested in Greenhouse Gas Trade

On December, 7 the auditor of the international company «Det Norskc Veritas» (Norway) visited Arkhangelsk PPM in the framework of the Kyoto protocol.
As Tatyana Soboleva, the Head of the Ecology Department of APPM reported, in 2006 the Company has continued working over registration of greenhouse gas emissions. Main aim of the registration is managing the GHG emissions in order to limit their quantity, to inform the society about the situation and to enter the carbonic markets.
APPM takes many efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions. In 2006 the enterprise has developed the Project of Mutual Realization «Utilization of biomass wastes at JSC Arkhangelsk PPM » under the treaty with ÀÎÍ «Center of Environmental Investments» in conformity with atr. 6 of Kyoto Protocol. As Soboleva T. explained in this case utilization means the incineration of wood wastes and sediments of wastes water from barking boilers. Greenhouse gas emissions have declined if compared to use of coal and mazut. Signing of the purchase and sale agreement of greenhouse gas emissions reduction with the European partners is the final aim of the project.
The auditor of «Det Norskc Veritas» held negotiations with the Company's top-management, managers and technical specialists, analyzed the data of the project under realization and received the comments in accordance with the requirements of the Kyoto protocol.
The report of the auditor is expected to be presented to the Company's management in the middle of January 2007.
