In 2006 Arkhangelsk PPM spent 1 bln. 148 mln. RUR on environmental arrangements. 
<P></P>
<P>As Tatyana Soboleva, the Head of the Ecology Department of APPM, reported in 2006 the Company realized several large projects. Firstly the Company finished construction of the wood treatment plant (WTP-4) based on "dry barking" technology. The capacities of the new plant allow to process about more than 2 mln. cub. m. of&nbsp;&nbsp;timber per annum. The cost of WTP is more than 2 bln. RUR.</P>
<P>Secondly the mill reconstructed the sodium regeneration boiler -2 at the cardboard plant: installation of the efficient Alstorm's electric filter capable to trap 99% of sodium sulphate dust. </P>
<P>Last year the company fulfilled construction of the 4<SUP>th</SUP> section of the ash dump.The company repaired aerotanks of the 1 stage of the biological purification of the industrial water. Reconstruction of the regeneration boiler-5 at the HPS-1 included converting it from mazut&nbsp; to coal, besides the highly efficient dust trapping unit was installed there.
