APPM launched a unique wood treatment plant No.4

On April, 18 Arkhangelsk PPM put into operation the wood treatment plant No. 4.The investments into construction of the WTP-4 totaled more than RUR 2 bln.
Launch of the workshop will allow to supply technological wood chips to the mill's cooking units and to the neutrally-sulfite semi-chemical pulp plant the construction of which is planned for 2008.
The equipment of the WTP-4 involves using of "dry-barking" technology, the project capacity of the shop is 2,3 mln cubic m. per annum. The building of the neutrally-sulfite semi-chemical pulp plant will create necessary prerequisites for increase of cardboard plant productivity as supply of raw material grows and the prime cost will decrease.
In the opening speech Vladimir Beloglazov, General Director of Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill: «The unique character of the new workshop is included in its importance and significance for the Company's future: first of all it is environmental and economic effect, and as a consequence the overall social effect for the mill, city, region and industry as a whole. This effect may be called as «investments in the future».
The solemn launch of the wood treatment plant-4 was given to Vladimir Krupchak, the Deputy of the Russian State Duma, the former Head of the Board of Directors of OJSC APPM who contributed much into APPM's development especially in the crisis period for the mill.
