Social policy
Being the Company of high social responsibility, OJSC «Arkhangelsk PPM» pays much attention to realization of the social responsibility principles. OJSC «Arkhangelsk PPM» considers high qualification of the staff and pays much attention to quality of work and high labour motivation its key priority.
The total number of employees of the OJSC Arkhangesk PPM as of 31.12.2008 amounted to 4716 persons. Staffing is 99,4%. From the total number 2857 persons are male, 1859 persons are female.
One of the objectives in the personnel management is increase of the employees’ professional level. For this purpose the management of OJSC «Arkhangelsk PPM» gives the employees various opportunities for individual growth and professional training. Increase of technical level of production facilities, improving of technological processes, output of high quality produce demands new knowledge and skills. Main objective of increase of the managers and specialists’ qualifications is achieving of additional knowledge in production management including various quality management programs, implementation of advanced technologies, economy, finances and accounting, standardization and products’ certification.
In 2008 1908 or 40,5% from total number of employees was engaged in different types and forms of trainings that is a 16,5% increase against 2007. In the reporting year the Company’s expenses on training and upgrading the qualifications of the personnel amounted to RUR 7,4 mln.
The subsidiary of Department of Pulp-and-paper Production Technology of the Arkhangelsk State Engineering University was opened at Arkhangelsk PPM. The start of the subsidiary is a new stage of the educational and production process and a new period of close cooperation between the mill and the University. Thus, OJSC «Arkhangelsk PPM» contributes into realization of one of the national projects education.
In 2008 OJSC «Arkhangelsk PPM» executed all liabilities in the social sphere and giving social benefits and guarantees stated in the Collective Agreement, Labour Code and financial plan to the employees.
The Company spent RUR 176,5 mln on social programs and benefits including:
- Payment of social benefits and guarantees, prescribed in the Collective Agreement amounted to RUR 119,9 mln including:
- compensation of vacations travel, all kinds of reimbursements in connection with anniversaries and holiday dates, material aid to the employees, lumpsum grant and repay of extra holidays in connection with death of a close relative, and additional vacation for harmful labour conditions equaled to RUR 83,5 mln.;
- payment of preventive food, milk and mineral water by the employees engaged in harmful labour conditions RUR 9,2 mln.;
- all kinds of material aid, free vouchers to the sanatorium to non-working pensioners RUR 8,5 mln.;
- summer holidays camp for children RUR 5,5 mln.;
- sponsorship to the gardening partnership RUR 0,5 mln.;
- financing of recovery and curing of the employees on the base of the health center «Northern Perl» RUR 12,7 mln.
- Financing of sports events directed at improving of the employees’ health amounted to RUR 6,7 mln.
- Financing of organization of cultural events and leisure of employees and children RUR 2,4 mln.
- Financing of objects of social and cultural aim RUR 5,9 mln.
- Financing of regional social programs, charity and sponsorship RUR 41,4 mln.
Being a town-forming enterprise, Arkhangelsk PPM takes active part in the problems of Novodvinsk and Arkhangelsk region, performing target-financing of the objects of the social and cultural sphere, providing employment of population.
In 2008 Arkhangelsk PPM won the II the regional contest «The Best Collective Agreement 2008» among the enterprises of the off-budget sphere and with more than one thousand in number. Besides, the Company also has become a winner in the nomination «Sponsorship» in the contest «Charitable organization -2008», which was held jointly with the regional organization and the Administration of Arkhangelsk.
